Get ready for some serious sea spray and high-flying action because the Kite World Cup is making its UAE debut right here in Abu Dhabi.

From 25 October to 2 November, Fahid Island will transform into a vibrant hub for water sports, community fun and international competition as it hosts the Fahid Island Watersports Festival.

For the first time ever, five world-class events - from kitesurfing and wing foiling to e-foiling and wake foiling — will take place in one stunning location. It’s a first for Abu Dhabi and a big moment for the region’s growing adventure-sports scene.

Officially inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the festival brings together over 150 elite athletes from across the globe, including French star Kylie Belloeuvre, Spain’s Borja Vellon, and American foiling favourite Justin Chait. Representing the UAE are Mohammed Al Mansoori and Abu Dhabi’s very own Fryderyk Szcesny, who’ll be making waves on home turf.

Beyond the competition, it’s a full-blown festival by the beach. Expect a buzzing Athletes’ Village, live DJs, and entertainment throughout the week. There’ll be local and global pop-ups like Loud Mood, Loch, Bayrut Express and Pamukme, plus a line-up of food trucks and restaurants including Oro Pizzeria, Seven Dawgs and House of Pop. Visitors can even settle in for sunset dining at Fahid Beach Club by Barbossa.

Families and first-timers can also get in on the action with introductory clinics in kitesurfing, wing foiling, and e-foiling led by pro athletes — a rare chance to learn from some of the best in the world.
