This winter, the Liwa International Festival is back in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra Region, running from 12 December 2025 to 3 January 2026. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Tal Moreeb (the UAE’s tallest sand dune), the festival mixes motorsport thrills with desert traditions and family fun.
Motorsport fans will be in their element, with dune climbing challenges, drift shows, and speed races drawing competitors from around the world. It’s one of those rare chances to see the desert transformed into a live arena for skill, power, and plenty of sand-spraying action.
The festival isn’t all about engines and horsepower. Expect live music, family shows, cultural tours, and desert adventures, making it just as appealing for those who’d rather soak up the atmosphere than hit the dunes.
At the heart of the festival is Liwa Village, where heritage takes centre stage. You’ll find local crafts, traditional food stalls, creative workshops, and family activities that bring Emirati culture to life. It’s a great spot for a slower pace between the high-energy events.
Running for over three weeks, the Liwa International Festival is as much about community and culture as it is about motorsport and adventure. Whether you camp out under the stars, shop local, or simply watch the action from the dunes, it’s one of the UAE’s most unique winter experiences.
The full line-up will be revealed soon, but for now, mark the dates.
