Sphere Abu Dhabi: Location is revealed and it's going to be huge!

After a lot of rumours about where it would end up, Sphere Abu Dhabi has officially confirmed its location on Yas Island.

The venue will sit between Yas Mall and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, adding another major entertainment project to the capital's entertainment Island.

The announcement was made by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi and Sphere Entertainment Co., confirming that Abu Dhabi will become home to the first Sphere venue outside of the US.

Construction is expected to finish by the end of 2029, with DCT Abu Dhabi investing USD 1.7 billion into the construction phase of the project.

Like the original Sphere in Las Vegas, the Abu Dhabi venue will host immersive experiences, concerts, sporting events and large-scale brand events, with capacity for up to 20,000 people depending on the setup.

Plans also include showcasing Emirati culture and artists through immersive experiences and displays on the venue’s exterior LED screen.

Once complete, Sphere Abu Dhabi will join Yas Island’s growing entertainment line-up alongside attractions including Etihad Arena, Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World and the upcoming Disney theme park resort.
