If you are looking for things to do in Abu Dhabi, block out 24 - 26 April - this is one for the Marvel fans!

Simu Liu, aka Marvel’s Shang-Chi, is officially heading to Abu Dhabi for Middle East Film & Comic Con 2026, and it’s a pretty big deal for fans of film, TV and all things pop culture.

Simu Liu is one of those rare names that crosses worlds. Superhero fans will know him from the Marvel universe, sitcom lovers will recognise him from Kim’s Convenience, and yes, he even popped up in Barbie. At MEFCC, you’ll be able to meet him, grab a photo, and get your favourite merch signed - the kind of moment you don’t forget in a hurry.

He’s not the only familiar face making the trip. Christopher Judge is also confirmed for the line-up, giving gamers and voice-acting fans a solid reason to get excited too.

One of the reasons MEFCC works so well in Abu Dhabi is that it’s not just about who’s on stage. You can spend the day bouncing between gaming tournaments, browsing art and collectibles, getting lost in book corners, and people-watching some seriously impressive cosplay.

This year also brings a new Otaku District: a neon-lit corner of the festival dedicated to modern Asian pop culture, from anime to K-pop. It’s designed to be loud, colourful, and a little chaotic in the best way.

Behind the scenes, the comic book side of MEFCC is also levelling up. Artists like Federico Vicentini and Brett Breeding will be around for fans who are more into panels, sketches and behind-the-scenes stories than selfies with celebrities.

More guest announcements are still on the way, so this won’t be the last big name added to the line-up. For updates, tickets and the full line-up, head to mefcc.com.
