The biggest Kite Event in Abu Dhabi comes to Al Reem Island

The Reem Festival is part of Abu Dhabi Moments, a new initiative to bring the community together. It's claiming to be the biggest kiting event the city has ever seen, and its FREE to attend!

The outdoor Reem Festival is taking place across three days from 17 to 19 October at Reem Central Park, Al Reem Island from 4pm to 12am daily.

The family-friendly festival will see an array of kites take to the skies, as 25 master kite runners from all over the world will come together to demonstrate their unique creations and put on some breathtaking displays.

Alongside flying kites, festival goers can participate in workshops to explore the heritage of kite making as well as visit the retail shop so kite enthusiasts can enjoy the art of kite flying at home.

You'll also be able to participate in unforgettable experiences with hot air balloon rides to witness the magical kite-flying performances from above and marvel at the panoramic views of Al Reem Island district and surrounding mangroves.

And if kites aren't your thing, there are plenty of other activities to keep the you and the family entertained, with local musicians taking to the main stage and exciting headline artists putting on show-stopping performances each evening.

The festival will also feature a giant inflatable art garden, a cool kite decoration corridor that comes alive at night with illuminations and strolling pop-up performances throughout the day.

Your little ones will be kept entertained too, at “Never Land” with stage shows and performances throughout the festival, as well as an arts and crafts area, balloon bending and more.

There will also be a dedicated and supervised play area for children aged 1 to 3 years, so parents can enjoy the festival while leaving their children in a family-friendly and inclusive environment.

Of course it wouldn't be a festival without food, right? There will be plenty to choose from, including a sizzling BBQ with live cooking stations, an array of cuisines and eateries to satisfy everyone’s taste buds, as well as a fresh food market offering Abu Dhabi residents healthy juices and snacks and the opportunity to buy local and organic produce.

Al Reem Festival taking place at Reem Central Park, Al Reem Island from 17 to 19 October from 4pm to 11pm daily is free to attend and open to everyone.
