There’s always something fun happening in Abu Dhabi, and this week is no different. From cultural experiences and creative workshops to new dining spots, live entertainment and family activities, we’ve rounded up a list of things to add to your calendar this week. 


Monday 13 July

There's something new on the menu at Jones the Grocer 

Head to Jones the Grocer and check out their new menu additions. If you've dined there before, you'll already be familiar with their gourmet breakfasts, hearty brunches and comfort food classics. Now, they’ve introduced new dishes including a Yuzu Salmon & Beetroot Salad, Chicken & Asian Chilli Jam Ciabatta, Crispy Kimchi Mushroom Burger and Halloumi & Mediterranean Vegetable Baguette

.

If you're going earlier in the day, you'll also find breakfast additions like the Kimchi Mushroom Toast, Crispy Sweetcorn Fritters and the returning Amazonian Açaí Bowl. Plus, they’ve also brought back the Truffle & Mushroom Risotto and Miso Udon Noodles.

Liwa Rutab Festival returns to Al Dhafra this July 

Make a trip to Liwa and experience one of the UAE’s biggest celebrations of the date season. The Liwa Rutab Festival features competitions for semi-ripe dates (rutab), a heritage market, traditional crafts, folk performances and plenty of other activities.


You can explore the agricultural and heritage displays, browse local products including a market showcasing the region’s dates, and learn more about the UAE’s long-standing connection with the date palm.

A coffee workshop inspired by Emirati traditions at Zayed National Museum

Ever wondered what goes into a traditional cup of Emirati coffee?  This hands-on workshop at Zayed National Museum lets you create your own blend while learning about the ingredients and customs behind it. You’ll get the chance to grind the coffee using a traditional menhas (mortar), mix your blend, and even take your custom creation home with you. 


Plus, if you're a Zayed National Museum member, you can also take advantage of priority entry and discounted tickets for public programmes.

Merchants & Makers market at Abu Dhabi Mall

The Merchants & Makers Market is heading to Abu Dhabi Mall for one day only, bringing together handcrafted creations, homegrown brands and unique pieces from local creators. Check out the mix of handmade items and one-of-a-kind finds from independent merchants and small businesses.

Friday 17 July

Dinner, drinks and sunset views at Al Maya Island 

Head to Al Maya Island & Resort and spend the evening at Al Maya Grill, where you can enjoy sunset views, candlelight dining and chill-out music by the water. 

The Friday Night Experience includes a dinner set menu and two hours of selected drinks, with different packages available depending on what you’re looking for.

Atif Aslam live at Etihad Arena

If songs like Aadat, Tera Hone Laga Hoon, Jeena Jeena and Dil Diyan Gallan have been on your playlist for years, Atif Aslam is bringing those familiar favourites and more to Yas Island this weekend. 


He is known for his signature voice and hit Bollywood and Coke Studio tracks, and will take the stage at Etihad Arena for one night only. Get ready to put your dancing shoes on for a concert filled with songs you’ve likely sung along to countless times.

Sunday 19 July

Yoga for the kids at Titter Totter in Reem Mall

Looking for a weekend activity for your little ones? Titter Totter at Reem Mall is hosting kids yoga sessions every Sunday in July, where children can stretch, move and have fun through guided activities designed for ages 2 to 5.

The sessions are for children aged 2 to 5, and they’ll need to be accompanied by a parent or nanny. Each session includes a 30-minute yoga class followed by one hour of free soft play, so your little ones can keep the fun going after the session.
