International Ceviche Day at COYA Abu Dhabi

28 June is International Ceviche Day, and COYA Abu Dhabi is celebrating with a special limited-edition tasting platter called the Mistura de Ceviche. The peruvian restaurant's menu runs all week long, featuring six distinct varieties to try: truffle snapper, scallop, spicy yellowfin tuna, mushroom, mixto, and sea bream.

Turtles: Between Land & Sea Workshop

The Climate Tribe Hub is hosting a family workshop called Turtles: Between Land and Sea, which focuses on the sea turtles living in UAE waters. You’ll learn about the threats these turtles face and the actual, everyday actions you can take to help protect them.

Wednesday 24 June 

Triceratops: The Herd at Natural History Museum

If you are a bit of a history geek, head over to the Natural History Museum project space this Wednesday. It's actually part of their Dino Month programming, and they have a massive Triceratops skeleton on display right now. You can check out the scale of the fossils and learn a bit about how these creatures lived. 

Just keep in mind that you'll need a standard museum ticket to get in, which start from AED 70.

Thursday 25 June

UAE National Orchestra Season Finale

The UAE National Orchestra is wrapping up its first season this Thursday at the NYU Abu Dhabi Arts Center. The performance is called Rhythm Without Borders, and you'll hear regional Emirati music and global orchestral styles mixed together. In the first half, conductor Ahmed Farag leads the musicians through high-energy dance rhythms and symphonic jazz, so you'll experience live versions of Arturo Márquez’s Danzon No. 2 and Leonard Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.

After the intermission, you'll hear Abdulaziz Almadani’s The Fiftieth Samaei, Camille Saint-Saëns’ intense Bacchanale, and a dedicated An Emirati Suite arranged by Qoutaiba Al Nuaimi.

Friday 26 June 

Hakkasan x OTORO Four-Hands Dinner

Two of the biggest names in the local food scene are teaming up this Friday, as Hakkasan hosts Chef Akmal Anuar from OTORO for a one-night-only dinner. It’s a four-course menu made up of small plates fusing Cantonese flavours with Japanese. On the menu are dishes such as Peking duck, black garlic Wagyu dumplings, jasmine tea-smoked Wagyu ribs, and bone marrow with black pepper and curry leaves. They'll also have a live DJ and drummer performing during dinner to keep the energy up.

The packages are all-inclusive, starting at AED 588 for house drinks and cocktails, or AED 728 if you want Bubbles.

Narciso Rodriguez’s pop-up sale at Yas Mall

Narciso Rodriguez has a fragrance pop-up running at Yas Mall. You can explore their signature collections on display, and while you're there, make sure to check out the different activations throughout the week which include a photobooth, scent discovery areas, charm bar, and hand massages . If you go on Saturday evening, a painting artist will be personalising your purchased fragrance bottles.

Sunday 28 June 

Seeing Ourselves exhibition at Bassam Freiha Art Foundation

To wrap up the weekend, you can head over to Saadiyat Cultural District to catch the 'Seeing Ourselves' exhibition at the Bassam Freiha Art Foundation.

The gallery is showcasing a collection that explores contemporary Emirati identity and culture. Inside, you can see original photographic works by Zayed University students, created during a residency with French photographer Philip Ducap. It's also completely female-led, with the visual identity shaped by the all-women student group involved in the project.
