If you’ve ever looked at your dog or cat before a trip and thought, “I wish you could just come with me”… this one’s for you.
Etihad is making pet travel more accessible
Etihad Airways is rolling out a limited-time offer on its Pets Onboard service, making it easier (and slightly more affordable) to bring your four-legged travel companion along for the journey.
The Abu Dhabi-based airline is still the only airline in the UAE that allows pets to travel in the cabin with their owners, and this latest move taps into a growing demand from travellers who don’t want to leave their pets behind.
Until 31 May 2026, you can book the Pets Onboard service for:
USD 399 per flight segment
That means whether you’re heading off for a summer break or relocating, travelling with your pet becomes a lot more manageable.
What the experience actually looks like
This isn’t a free-roaming situation (obviously), but it’s designed to keep pets comfortable and close:
Pets must stay in an approved carrier throughout the flight
In Economy, the carrier fits under the seat in front of you
Want more space? You can book an extra seat
In Business, pets travel on an additional seat for extra comfort
Pet travel has become a real consideration for residents in the UAE, especially with more people relocating, travelling long-term, or simply refusing to leave their pets behind.
By lowering the cost barrier (even temporarily), Etihad is making a premium service feel more accessible, without compromising on care or safety.
