A city staycation in the heart of Abu Dhabi

It's easy to only think of the 5 star luxury resorts on offer in the capital, with their sandy beaches, holiday vibe and relaxing nature. But what if you want a less extravagant stay that's also easy on the pocke? The hotels dotted within the city might be another option for you. We recently stayed at Grand Millennium Al Wahda which is much more than a hotel located at the centre of town. Three point review: 1 - #location of the property is very well placed. Attached to Al

Pan-Latin cuisine with a difference at VaKaVa

After our visit to the launch of VaKaVa located at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, we wanted to get an idea if the food had actually improved from its previous namesake, Toro Toro. Three point review: 1-#venue is full of vibrant colour and funky design, true to Pan-Latin style. In the evening it’s quite dark so you don’t get the full force of the vibrancy but it feels cosy with booths and cushions, even though it’s such a large venue. 2-#food was varied and there was enough for th

Don't miss this safari and staycation in Abu Dhabi

Fancy being amongst wild animals on a remote island? We've just visited a safari resort 2 hours from the capital and our adventures have made memories for the whole famiy. Three Point Review: 1 - #resort houses three different properties, xx xx and xx. Each hotel offers its own theme, whether you are looking for luxury, a more rustic surrounding or something a little different. We stayed in an Al Yamm Villa which provided us with a room on the beach, like literallty on th

Check out the ultimate brunch experience in Abu Dhabi

What are you doing for Brunch this weekend? We loved brunch at COYA Abu Dhab, where it wasn’t only the drinks flowing, but the food too! Three Point Review: 1-#Food was not only constantly available throughout the brunch, it tasted pretty good too. Peruvian food is known for slightly stronger flavours than some of us are used to, but we enjoyed eating a different type of cuisine for brunch. The sheer amount of options on offer were incredible too. From starters brought to you

West is Best when dining at Yas Mall

There are so many fab places to eat at Yas Mall, and when we were invited to West to West Kitchen by its cool owner, we wanted to give it a go. Located in Urban Retreat, a food incubator with lots of different food options, West is West serves up Caribbean and West African food with authenticity at the heart of its offering. Three Point Review: 1 - #Choice of dishes was quite large for a small unit, and they had options for vegetarians/vegans too. They had variety of separa

A Chinese takeaway that tastes like home, is now available in abu dhabi

We had the chance to try out @foomanchoouae recently, a Chinese restaurant in the city who offer delivery or take away. Three point review: 1-#portions were huge, we ordered a bit more than we could manage (always good for the next days leftovers though!) 2-#vegetarian options are available. You just have to ask for vegetarian sauces to be used in the dishes. We opted for three veg based choices including Szechuan Tofu and Chop Fooey, alongside Foo’s Singapore Noodles and Foo

take a staycation in ruwais, the western region

We recently stayed at Danat Jebel Dhanna Resort, located in Ruwais, the Western Region. The overnight staycation location is about 2.5 hours away from Abu Dhabi. Three Point Review: 1-#room was pleasant enough. Our room had a balcony with a lovely sea view, which in cooler months would be a pleasure to take in. The room had plenty of amenities from an abundance of toiletries, a DVD player and tea and coffee facilities. 2-#Dining takes place in a few different outlets. For buf

go crazy for shakes at black tap, yas mall, abu dhabi

Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes Abu Dhabi has finally opened in Yas Mall. The popular New York restaurant is already a huge hit in its two locations in Dubai, and with its instagrammable crazy shakes we think it will just as sought after, in our capital. Three point review: 1-#food options are quite varied considering this place is famous for its milkshakes. We tried their craft burgers - the vegan burger was a patty made out of black beans and we enjoyed it. The Texan burge

l'eto yourself indulge in this new luxurious caffe in the galleria, on maryah island

L'ETO CAFFE UAE is finally open at The Galleria Mall and boy is Abu Dhabi in for a treat! Three point review: 1-#Food is so fresh and full of flavour. The salad counter is filed with lots of different salads from honey roasted pumpkin with bulgar and kale, pomegranate aubergines yogurt and two colour beetroot salad. And you can pick a main course to go along with your salad too - we tried the oyster mushroom and quiche and loved it! 2-#decor is bright and quaint. Following it

Park Bar AT PARK HYATT ABU DHABI

For the next three months, the Park Bar at @parkhyattabudhabi is serving up a new Asian menu and we LOVED it. Three Point Review: 1-#food is varied and the menu is extensive but in the right way. From steamed buns and Vietnamese crepes to cold soba and frozen mochi, there really is so much to choose from. 2-#service was excellent from the chefs to the waitresses. They all knew their stuff, were able to make recommendations and were clued up when it came to serving their guest

staycation at le royal meridien abu dhabi

This weekend we had a little staycation at Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi which included a stay in a corner deluxe suite, dinner in District by Amalfi and breakfast in Cafe Palmier. Three point review: 1-#the suite was lovely, and offered enough room for two adults and one child. The bedroom was separated by a small wall but in the evening was made completely private by a blind that was pulled down during their turndown service. The entire space consisted of a lounge area, dini

Brunch at Roberto's Abu Dhabi for all the family

Today we checked out the Pranzo Di Giardino at Roberto's Abu Dhabi and really enjoyed the family focus along side the kids entertainment. Three point review: 1-#food options were set to a menu specially designed for this brunch. The concept is sharing, family style so we were given six starters to share (they even included an extra veggie starter). Next were two pasta dishes that can can also be adapted to dietary requirements. They are cooked fresh and brought over in the pa

    international Dining near adnec

If you are in the Adnec area you could try out Tamarind restaurant in Capital Centre Arjaan by Rotana their all day dining restaurant. 1-#menu is quite exciting when you read it, it’s contemporary with its language - boards, bowls, pots etc - and in the main part the food was good. The best dish for us was the quinoa cauliflower tabbouleh, which was fresh, crunchy and a large portion. The veggie burger used a nice seeded brioche style bun. 2-#ambiance - the place was quiet,

grab a little L'arte with lunch

We tried out @larte.ad at @manaratalsaadiyat for lunch, and we were impressed! Three point review: 1-#food - what a delight! They’ve kept it simple with traditional Italian dishes but the quality is excellent. We tried the burrata pugliese which was surrounded by thinly sliced courgette and dressed in lemon - we found the lemon a little too tart for our taste. The truffle and mushroom risotto was absolutely delicious and not heavy like a normal risotto can be. Dessert was inn

Authentic Italian food is back in abu dhabi

We hadn’t been to Spaccanapoli in while, so a few weeks back we decided to pop in for lunch. Three point review: 1-#Prices have changed - but for the good! So before you might have paid AED 80 for a margarita pizza and now it’s around AED 50! (And the portions seem a bit more generous too) 2-#chef has changed and the new culinary master in charge is a welcome breath of fresh air. We could taste the difference in the simplest dish of spaghetti pomodoro. Hooray! 3-#staff were v

Eat. Play. laugh Brunch on the roof

The Eat. Play. Laugh. Brunch at Marriott Hotel Downtown, Abu Dhabi is located on The Grill@25, an outdoor space on the 25th floor with a pool. Three point review: 1-#atmosphere is brilliant. They have an awesome DJ playing RandB music (which they didn’t have at it’s originals location, Kuzbara), fun games like Jenga and beer pong, as well as an illusionist who literally blew our minds! 2-#food offering is not massive, but we liked that. There are live stations including chaat

⛳️ GOLF ⛳️ love it or hate it, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA are back #inabudhabi and we just spent a lovely afternoon kicking back at the Village with lots of activities for the little one. Three point review: 1-#Kids will be entertained in the future falcons area with golfing games they can try their hand at and there are prizes to win too! The guys from @sandart.me have FREE sand art activities and there is a big play centre area with a slide that leads

New menu at giraffe, yas mall

giraffe UAE has introduced a new menu that fits in even more with their world food concept. We tried it out in the Yas Mall branch which has had a very cool, international makeover, with some very instagrammable backdrops! Three point review: 1-#Kids menu has enough options to keep the little ones happy, from sausages, chicken, baked beans, chips (of course!), plus lots more. They were also very accommodating if we wanted to chop and change anything. The kids menu is AED45 fo
