  • Activities to inspire inclusion for those living with MS across Abu Dhabi

    Move for MS is an initiative launched in Abu Dhabi this month, which champions people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), through a range of inclusive sports activities. Whether it's walking, jogging, cycling, swimming, hiking, or any other form of physical engagement, participants of all abilities can join in. The initiative by National MS Society (NMSS) also encourages donations to support people affected by MS, which is also aligned with global MS Awareness month observed in March every year. “In line with the NMSS mission, we're calling on the UAE community to participate in “Move for MS” campaign. Through this initiative, we aim to garner support for people living with this condition; to make them feel included, ensure that they are visible and know how much we care about their wellbeing."   • Chris Tucker and Andrew Schulz join comedic line-up at Abu Dhabi Comedy Week in May 2024

    Abu Dhabi is preparing for its own annual comedy festival, Abu Dhabi Comedy Week. Set to be held from May 18th to 26th, this funny festival will be an emirate-wide celebration of laughter, taking place at Etihad Arena – Yas Island. On the roster already are Aziz Ansari (18 May), Tom Segura (25 May), Jo Koy (26 May) and Bassem Youssef and Maz Jobrani on 24 May. This week it was announced that Chris Tucker will be taking to the stage on 25 May and the American stand-up comedian, actor, and podcaster Andrew Schulz will light up the arena on 22 May.   • A 14-Day Walk Challenge at Umm Al Emarat Park to take place in Abu Dhabi from 18 March 2024

    Active Abu Dhabi, an initiative created in partnership with Emirates Foundation and PureHealth, kicks off its first event – “First Steps”, a 14-Day Walk Challenge at Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi from 18 March 2024. The 14-day challenge is open to the general public of all fitness levels. The challenge area will be open from 4 - 11pm daily from 18-31 March. Active Abu Dhabi’s “First Steps” Walk Challenge includes a 6,000-step daily challenge, 3,000 of which are achievable at Umm Al Emarat Park’s 1.2km walking route.   • Saadiyat Beach Club and Vilebrequin launch French-style summer experience In Abu Dhabi

    Saadiyat Beach Club and French swimwear brand Vilebrequin will collaborate to celebrate summer in Abu Dhabi with a takeover of the luxury beach club on Saadiyat Island from Saturday, 9 March 2024. When you head over to the beach club, you'll be transported to the French Riviera this summer as designer Vincent Darré and his team have added a vibrant range of Riviera-feel furnishings, including custom fabrics and hand-painted ceramics, adding to Saadiyat Beach Club’s luxury laid-back atmosphere. From March until the end of September 2024, Saadiyat Beach Club will be decked out in Vilebrequin’s signature colours and patterns, inspired by the location and the Sea Turtles that call this stretch of beach home, Vilebrequin has created a variety of motifs, including a sea turtle, that will form part of the décor.   • Waterfront Nights returns for a third edition this Ramadan

    Yas Bay Waterfront's pop-up event is back for the Ramadan season. Waterfront Nights will run from 22 March until Eid Al Fitr at the Yas Island venue. The free pop-up event will be open every night at the arena plaza in front of Etihad Arena from 9:00pm to 2:00am – look for the traditional Ramadan themed decorations. There’s an outdoor market with a collection of homegrown clothing, perfumery, and home décor brands in addition to food and drink options such as luqaimat, rigag or koshari and karak. Enjoy it all while listening to the soothing sounds of qanun and oud players performing every night.
