Clear four traffic points with the UAE's Accident-Free Day campaign

The UAE Ministry of Interior is launching its annual A Day Without Accidents initiative as the country gets ready for the new academic year. The campaign encourages you to make a safety pledge and follow traffic rules, with four traffic points up for reduction if you complete the day without violations or accidents.

The initiative takes place on Monday, 31 August, when schools reopen and the roads get busier with everyone heading out for the morning rush. 

How can you take part?

You can register for the initiative today, Monday, 17 August, from 10am.

Once you sign up, you'll need to commit to safe driving practices, including:

• Put your phone away: Don't use your mobile phone while driving.

• Follow the speed limit: Take extra care around school zones and stick to the posted limits.

• Buckle up: Make sure you and your passengers are wearing seat belts.

• Keep your distance: Leave a safe following distance between you and the vehicle ahead.

• Drive without violations: Avoid traffic offences and accidents throughout Monday, 31 August.
