Etihad Rail tickets for Abu Dhabi-Dubai are now on sale

If you work in either Abu Dhabi or Dubai, or find yourself travelling between the two emirates often, your journey could soon look a little different. Etihad Rail has opened ticket sales for the much-awaited Abu Dhabi-Dubai passenger service, which launches on 30 September, 2026.

The journey between Al Yalayis Station in Dubai and Mohammed Bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi will take around 57 minutes. No sitting in traffic, no watching the minutes tick by on your dashboard, and less spent on fuel, Salik and parking too.

Introductory fares start at AED 39 for Comfort Class and AED 109 for Premium Class.

The Dubai service will run from Al Yalayis Station, near Jumeirah Golf Estates arriving at Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.

You can book tickets through the Etihad Rail website or mobile app, where you can check schedules, choose your seat and manage your booking. Reservations can be made up to five minutes before departure, subject to availability.

The Abu Dhabi-Dubai route is part of the second phase of the UAE’s passenger rail network. Al Dhaid in Sharjah will also open on 30 September, followed by Madinat Zayed and Liwa on 30 November, Al Sila, Al Dhannah and Al Mirfa on 30 December, and Sharjah University City on 30 March, 2027.

Etihad Rail plans to eventually connect 11 cities and regions across the UAE.
