The all-day dining restaurant at the Westin in Khalifa City will be serving a selection of traditional Ramadan dishes, more than 15 types of dates, hot and cold mezzeh, live cooking stations and classic Arabic dishes such as lamb ouzi, fresh Turkish baklava, saffron ice cream and more. A Qanun player will perform nightly as well. Suhoor is also served – the cover charge includes shisha, nibbles and unlimited tea or coffee.

Iftar comes with a Peruvian twist at the pan-latino restaurant in The Galleria on Al Maryah Island. On the menu you’ll find Charentais melon soup garnished with white almonds and olive oil, Peruvian beans with black truffle and a herby tomato and aji rocoto soup. There’s also international and Latin American dishes such as seabass croquettes; chicken tacos; beetroot causa, grilled corn salad; and mains such as baby chicken, salmon fillet, Chilean seabass and more. Finish off the evening with pistachio ate cake or banana ice cream with puffed rice for dessert.

Southern Sun

The South African hotel’s all-day dining restaurant Kahraman will be hosting a traditional Arabic buffet nightly for iftar, with all the usual suspects on the menu, plus unlimited Ramadan juices, soft drinks and water.

Emirates Palace Pavilion

Sunset to 21:30 hours for Iftar and from 22:00 to 02:00 hours for Suhoor.


The Palace’s pavilion is a popular choice year after year for iftar and suhoor. Situated on the Palace Terrace, you get beachside views when you break your fast. The buffet is expansive and features all the traditional Ramadan dishes you’d expect, including Emirati courses, international flavours and carving stations. For suhoor, the menu is a la carte.

Marriott Al Forsan

The Marriott’s all-day dining restaurant Khayal is the place to go for iftar, while the Al Khayal tent is where you can head for suhoor. Iftar is a buffet featuring dishes from the UAE, Saudi, Lebanon and Egypt. Expect grilled meats and more. Suhoor is also a buffet, and guests can unwind in cozy enclaves.

AED 210 per adult, and AED 90 per child between the ages of 6 to 12.


The hotel’s steakhouse, The Grill, also has an iftar menu. The four-course offering features a trio of charred kofte with mini crisp pita discs, beef kofte with aubergine, lamb with red pepper and walnut, chicken with stewed apricots, grilled renditions of Harirra Shorba, zaatar-smoked lamb loin, jumbo prawns, freekah risotto, and natural braising broth.

Head to France this Ramadan (well, Al Maryah Island) for an iftar menu with a difference. Tuck into a variety of starters, including green lentils, quinoa salad, carpaccio tuna and calamari, and mains such as grilled sirloin, grilled lamb cutlets with smoked aubergine, grilled tiger prawns and arrabbiata. Dessert is served as well – choose from cheesecake, warm chocolate mousse with malt ice cream or pistachio cake that comes with either a choice of tea or coffee.

Traditional Ramadan dishes plus an international spread will be on offer at the Pearl Rotana’s all-day dining restaurant Saffron. Fill your plate with live cooking stations including a shawarma cutting station, lamb ouzi and Arabic specialties as well as an array of sweet desserts. There’s entertainment for kids as well. On Thursdays and Friday during iftar Iftars, kids of all ages will be entertained with a gymnastic show and class performed by local play centre My First Gym.
