The ADR Guide: Best indoor play centres in Abu Dhabi

When the Abu Dhabi heat kicks in, sometimes the best plan is to take the kids somewhere indoors. The capital has loads of options to choose from, from soft play and trampolines to mini cities and indoor skydiving. Here are our picks for the best indoor play centres in Abu Dhabi. 

Leo&Loona Kids Park 

Leo&Loona packs over 30 attractions into one colourful park for younger kids. There's a glow-in-the-dark slide, pedal go-karts, a princess room and soft play zones for toddlers, plus creative workshops if your little one wants to get crafty. Work up an appetite and there's a restaurant on site where you can grab a bite without having to leave.

Caboodle Pamper & Play

Located in The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, Caboodle brings the outdoors in, with rolling hills, orchards and treehouses recreated indoors. Kids can explore a make-believe village, climb through a soft play frame, dig for dinosaur bones or get creative with arts and crafts. There's also a children's salon on site if a haircut's overdue. While they're busy playing, you can grab a coffee at the cafe and actually sit down for a minute.

CLYMB Yas Island

If your kids prefer to go somewhere more adrenaline-fuelled than a ball pit, head to CLYMB. Located on Yas Island, it is home to the world's largest indoor skydiving chamber and the region's tallest indoor climbing wall. The climbing area has five walls to work through, and it’s suitable for climbers aged four and up. If you're new to skydiving, you'll get pre-flight training and two flights in the chamber to get you started, while regular flyers can buy flying time in bulk.

Air Maniax

For kids who want to bounce, jump, and climb their way through the day, pop over to Air Maniax at Yas Mall, Marina Mall or Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain. There's a warrior assault course, a multi-sports arena for basketball and football, a Zip Zag ride and a dedicated toddler zone for the little ones under 95cm. There's also Grid Maniax, a laser-dodging colour grid game that's become a bit of a favourite with the older kids. 

When you need a break, there's a cafe on the mezzanine level for a coffee or a bite while you watch the action from above.

Cheeky Monkeys 

At Cheeky Monkeys in Al Forsan Village, kids can burn off their energy across a five-level soft play structure complete with slides, trampolines and climbing zones. There's also the Monkey Clubhouse for role play and Monkey Market for pretend shopping, plus a dedicated arts and crafts corner if your kids would rather get messy with paint than climb.

Fun Works - Powered by Play 

Fun Works at Yas Mall mixes big rides and kiddie rides with an arcade full of video games, plus redemption and novelty games where kids can rack up prizes. And parents, there's no hiding on the sidelines - the big rides are fair game for you too. There's also a dedicated play area for the younger ones who'd rather climb and bounce than queue for a ride.

miniBOUNCE 

miniBOUNCE is built for the youngest bouncers, from walking age up to six years old, offering a gentler experience of the trampoline park. Kids can dive into the bags, bounce on mini trampolines and explore a new interactive room built just for them. Meanwhile, you can grab a bite at BOUNCE Cafe, with pizza, snacks and proper coffee on the menu, while they play.

KidZania is a replica of a mini city where kids role-play over 40 real-world jobs. They can check in at the Emirates Airlines counter before their day starts, learn to land a plane, join UAE PRO LEAGUE training at the stadium, or head to the dental centre to become a hygiene expert for the day. There's even a TV animation studio for budding filmmakers and a department store where they spend their earned KidZos at the end of it all. Best suited to kids aged four and up, though toddlers can tag along too.

Orange Wheels 

Orange Wheels is packed with ways to keep younger kids entertained. There's soft play, role play, O-Town, arts and crafts and a dedicated toddler area. If you need a quick breather, the Drop N Shop service lets trained Playmates keep an eye on the little ones while you grab a coffee or tick off a few errands.

Adrenark Adventure 

At Adrenark Adventure, you'll find more than 20 attractions, from a climbing wall, inflatable park and net maze to a three-storey e-karting track and thrill rides like Flip Out and Through the Roof, so if you've got older kids or teens, they'll get the most out of this one. There's a dedicated toddler playland for the little kids too. Check out the Graffiti Art House as well, where kids can try canvas art, fluid art and spray painting.
