The SUMMYT Showdown: Abu Dhabi’s first top-rope climbing competition at CLYMB

If you’ve ever wanted to watch (or be part of) Abu Dhabi’s climbing community in action, this September is your chance. CLYMB™ Yas Island Abu Dhabi — home to the tallest indoor climbing wall in the region — is hosting its first-ever top-rope competition: The SUMMYT Showdown.

On 21 September, climbers of all levels will test their skills across 30 technical routes on CLYMB’s 22-metre Advance Wall, with the top five male and female climbers moving on to the finals. The pressure ramps up on the 20-metre Summit Wall, where brand-new routes will decide who takes home the crown.

It’s not just about the competition though, it’s a celebration of Abu Dhabi’s growing love for climbing, whether you’re taking part or cheering from the sidelines.

Competition Schedule

• 11:00 am – Qualifiers (Group 1)

• 2:00 pm – Qualifiers (Group 2)

• 6:00 pm – Finals on the Summit Wall

• 8:30 pm – Awards Ceremony

  
  

Every registered climber gets a CLYMB-branded kit, and professional judges will ensure a safe and fair event. Spectators are welcome, making this one to add to your Abu Dhabi weekend plans.
