The first event of its kind is coming to the UAE, and it’s packing a punch.
Al Ain is about to step into the global spotlight with the launch of the Abu Dhabi World Grappling Championship, taking place from 1–3 August 2025 at ADNEC Centre Al Ain.
Organised by International Vision Sports Management (IVSM) in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT) and under the banner of Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro (AJP), this brand-new competition will be the first of its kind in the world. It's designed to meet the growing international demand for grappling – one of the fastest-rising disciplines in combat sports.
Expect to see hundreds of athletes from over 20 countries, with divisions ranging from youth and amateurs to masters and seasoned pros. Over three high-energy days, the championship promises edge-of-your-seat action and serious skill – not to mention a few career-making moments.
Why Al Ain?
Al Ain was chosen as the host to spotlight its rising role in Abu Dhabi’s sports scene. With strong regional support for combat sports and a growing fan base, the city’s ready to welcome the world.
