An afternoon tea with an air of sophistication in Abu Dhabi

Afternoon tea in the capital just got upgraded. Cyan Abu Dhabi has really pushed the boat out with this outstanding display of afternoon treats and there isn’t a curled up sarnie in sight.

Three point review:

1 - #menu is a refreshing change to standard afternoon tea options in the city and offers an air of sophistication that we haven’t seen before. The food doesn’t come on traditional tiered cake stands, but instead on plates and boards that suit the style and ambiance of the restaurant.

2 - #flavours are true to the main menu at Cyan, which offers French and Arab inspired dishes. From heirloom tomato and feta tart to comte and truffle gougeres, the savoury dishes were filling. Everything on the menu was suitable for vegetarians (music to our ears) except the cured trout sandwich - and even our meat eater enjoyed them all.

Of course the sweet treats definitely outweighed the savoury and there were so many different options. Desserts to dip, citrus flavours and lots of chocolate too! AND they offered us a granita at the end to cleanse our palates.

3 - #beverages were unlimited and whilst they had tea and coffee, they also had a range of iced teas inspired by Abu Dhabi, Morocco and even Capital Gate!

#ADRfave - the scones were huge and so fluffy. And they came with cheese biscuits!

#ADRtip - let them you know are veggie before hand and they can replace the trout sandwich too
