Al Maryah Island has launched a new sports and recreation destination called ACTIVE.
You'll find three outdoor football fields, four tennis courts and four multipurpose sports courts at ACTIVE, located on the north side of Al Maryah Island. It doesn't matter what your fitness level is, you'll find advanced sports equipment and input from expert coaches and trainers while you're there. The new fitness location has one main goal: to empower athletes and sports enthusiasts to realise their health goals.
There's an outdoor FIFA-standard natural grass football field and two FIFA two-star artificial turf fields which will host Manchester City’s Abu Dhabi program, City Football Schools, as well as the LaLiga Academy. The programs help young players improve their football skills in a fun environment led by fully qualified coaches.
The sports location also has eight other courts which accommodate a vast range of sports all powered by sports experts Zayed Sports City (ZSC). The courts offer an ATP approved surface for tennis matches and lessons with ZSC Academy and they are also marked for multipurpose use to include, nasketball, netball, volleyball, handball and 5-a-side football.. You'll also find three paddle courts and a state-of-the-art indoor air-conditioned sports dome (due to open in May 2021). The dome will house a full 11-aside FIFA approved turf pitch with a spectator area that could be used for indoor football matches and also corporate and entertainment events - great for the summer months.
But that's not all, ACTIVE has four ‘No More Bottles’ filtered water stations, places to grab a bite and retail options. There's also female and male locker rooms equipped with showers and changing areas, restrooms, 196 parking spaces, as well as designated parking spaces for people of determination.
