The capital's got no shortage of cafes and coworking spaces - decent wifi, plenty of plug sockets, and coffee that doesn't run out after one cup. Here's our pick of places to work from in Abu Dhabi.
COWORKING SPACES
Madar_39
Madar_39 is located in Mina Zayed, with shared desks, meeting rooms, and Focus Pods for private calls. The Coworking space is a hub for creatives with homegrown brands such as El Botik, Year of the Family, and Poddster - making it their home. The coworking space itself is modern in its design, keeping its industrial location theme, with huge windows offering lots of light.
They even have spaces for your next event, including an auditorium and a rooftop area where they also run workshops, talks, and other community events throughout the year.
And look out for Al Maisan, their concept store at Madar_39, which hosts products from emerging and established creative entrepreneurs.

MY Coworking
MY Coworking is on the 23rd floor of Addax Tower, on Reem Island, with sea views, hot desks, dedicated desks, and private offices. There’s also a meeting room for client presentations and calls, along with printing and scanning facilities.
When you need a break from the screen, there’s a barista counter serving coffee and karak chai. Members get 24/7 access to the space, while day passes are available if you only need a desk for the day.

Cloud Spaces
Cloud Spaces has different workspaces depending on how you like to work. You can drop in with a day pass, use a dedicated desk, or book a private office. There are also one-person cubicles and bubbles, plus meeting rooms for calls, presentations, or team meetings.
You’ll find Cloud Spaces at ADGM, World Trade Center Mall, and Yas Mall. Dedicated desks come with 24/7 access, while day passes are handy when you only need a workspace for the day.

Regus is a coworking space with multiple locations across Abu Dhabi, including Airport Road, ADGM, and Al Reem Island, so you can pick a workspace closer to where you are. Drop in for a hot desk, book a private office by the hour or day, or go for a coworking access plan if you work from different locations.

Sky Hub
Sky Hub is in Sky Tower on Al Reem Island, with views of the mangroves and water. Inside, you’ll find shared coworking desks, dedicated desks, private offices, meeting rooms, and comfortable lounges.
Coworking memberships come with 24/7 access, high-speed internet, and complimentary refreshments. If you need somewhere for a meeting, the rooms come with video conferencing, printing, and complimentary snacks.

Haibu Space
Haibu Space has a mix of coworking spaces, dedicated desks, and private offices, so you can use it for a day at your desk or have a more permanent workspace. There are also meeting rooms for between two and 30 people if you need somewhere for a call, presentation, or team catch-up.
You’ll find business lounges and outdoor spaces, with private beach club access available at selected locations. Haibu Space has two locations in Abu Dhabi, at Abu Dhabi Mall and Reem Mall, where its new ADGM space is now open.

James Cafe
With two branches located at Al Shams Boutik on Al Reem Island, and at Al Qana, this Michelin Guide-recognised French bistro and specialty coffee shop is a hit with those wanting to work from whilst having brekkie in a calming atmosphere.
The French-inspired menu has Croque Madame, Wagyu shakshuka, avocado on toast, and brioche French toast, along with lunch and dinner dishes. If you’re there for a longer work session, there’s also a selection of French desserts and coffee to keep you going.

Distrikt Social
Distrikt Social is a neighbourhood cafe on Saadiyat Island that has dedicated coworking areas, individual tables, communal tables, and an outdoor terrace, so you can bring your laptop and stay for a few hours.
If you get hungry there are loads of options on the menu. You’ll find Hokkaido Honey Toast, tuna tostadas, chicken tacos, Basque cheesecake, and a gluten-friendly brownie, along with specialty coffee and more. It’s pet-friendly too, with designated areas where you can bring your four-legged friend.

Located close to the Corrniche, this community favourite has a wall of books, comfy corners to work from, and a quiet study nook upstairs for when you really need to focus. The menu is handwritten on a blackboard by the bar and features salads, sandwiches, and full breakfasts.
You can order organic coffee, fresh juices, smoothies, and something sweet, with options including sizzling chocolate brownie, tiramisu, and strawberry cheesecake.
The cafe also has a communal space that hosts workshops, talks, pop-ups, and other events.

Daily Press Coffeehouse
Daily Press Coffeehouse on Al Maryah Island has laptop-friendly seating and free Wi-Fi, so you can get some work done while grabbing coffee and something to eat.
The menu starts with breakfast dishes such as cheese and tomato toast and scallion pancakes, while later on you can go for grilled lemon chicken or chicken katsu salad. There are pastries too, including labneh sesame rolls and pecan frangipane croissants, plus sticky date pudding and chocolate pops if you’re after something sweet.
