Abu Dhabi has officially activated its new Free Flow paid parking system in public multi-storey buildings and select commercial sectors, operating 24/7 all year round. It is designed to automate the entire process through automatic license plate recognition.
The moment you drive into a designated parking area, your session starts. When you drive out, it stops automatically, calculates the exact fee, and deducts it directly from your connected Darb wallet. The rates are set at AED 2 per hour, capping at a maximum of AED 15 for 24 hours.
Just maintain a sufficient balance in your Darb e-wallet to ensure the automatic deduction works and to avoid non-payment fines.
The system is now live across specific spots on Abu Dhabi Island - including Public Parking Building No.1 (Sector East 01-3) and Building No. 5 (Sector 02-3) as well as commercial sectors in Mohamed Bin Zayed City (Sectors ME9, ME10, and ME12), with designated spaces included for People of Determination.
This update aims to remove the need for physical payment machines, paper tickets, and manual text messages.
