It's Chinese New Year on the 5th February and here's how you can celebrate in the capital.

FAMILY FUN

Al Maryah Island and The Galleria will once again host their brilliant Chinese New Year celebrations, welcoming the Abu Dhabi community for the fifth consecutive year. The whole family can enjoy lots of events on Al Maryah Island’s Waterfront Promenade from until February 1st, culminating in an awesome fireworks display. Complementing the waterfront celebrations, The Galleria on Al Maryah Island will host a wide range of activities from January 31st until February 2nd

You can make a Chinese New Year wish at the traditional Tree of Fortune (Ang Pao) located in The Galleria’s ‘Great Room’, along with the chance to receive special offers and promotions from The Galleria’s retail and dining venues.

Little ones will be able to create their very own Chinese paper lanterns and traditional “good luck” ornaments, as well as Chinese drum making, 'dragon art’ and face painting. There will also be Chinese calligraphy showcases, sugar painting displays, and tea-making ceremonies, and can participate in the customary Chinese New Year Red Packet, a gift symbolizing good fortune.
