We’ve rounded up a mix of things to do over the week, including waterfront dinners, international sushi tasting menus, hands-on pottery workshops, a Friday night club set at Yas Bay, a rapid chess tournament and a massive classical concert for World Music Day. No, you won’t actually be throwing a wheel - instead you will learn pottery basics like wedging and centering clay, plus practice making simple pieces like cups or bowls. They offer separate sessions for adults and kids, and the clay is included in the ticket price. Don’t worry if you’ve not done it before, the workshop is built for complete beginners

Sushi lovers, Thursday is International Sushi Day, and SUSHISAMBA Abu Dhabi is marking it with a limited-run menu called Sushi Week.
Instead of their usual lineup, they are serving signature rolls inspired by their different locations around the world. You can try options like the local Wagyu Dhabi Roll with Japanese A5 wagyu and truffle aioli, a seared scallop roll from Milan, or a soft-shell Chilli Crab Roll from Singapore. The special menu is available for about two weeks, so you have plenty of time to check it out if you want to try a few different international styles in one sitting.

World Music Day at the Cultural Foundation

World Music Day, also known as Fête de la Musique, takes place yearly on 21 June. Marking the summer solstice, the global event celebrates cultural unity by encouraging people to share their musical heritage and enjoy free music in public spaces.
To mark the occasion, the Cultural Foundation is hosting Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. The UAE National Orchestra is set to bring Rimsky-Korsakov’s entire masterpiece to life under the direction of Egyptian conductor Ahmed Farag, who is known for Western classical and Arabic musical fusion.The evening also features a piece by Kamel Ahmed Moustafa, which pairs traditional Arabic instruments right with the classical symphonic setup.
