  • Fancy a coffee that’s been ‘brewed’ for 12 hours?

#CentralGrounds at Marriott-Downtown are the only ones #InAbuDhabi to use this Japanese inspired way of brewing (as far as they know). The process of the Kyoto drip uses a dripping system for 6-12 hours over ground coffee and doing this removes all the bitterness that can cause acidity. You can have a choice of coffee beans from seven different countries. It’s a cold brewed coffee and served over ice. Next time you need a caffeine fix, check them out! #coffee #kyotodrip #kyotodripcoffee #coldcoffee#icedcoffe #abudhabi #marriottdowntown#abudhabireview #drinks #japanesecoffee

  • Anti Gravity Yoga at Yoga One

If you haven’t tried anti gravity yoga yet...do it! We had a go at YogaOne and it really turned yoga on it’s, ahem, head! 🧘🏽‍ Three point review: 1-#yoga using a piece of material that is hanging from the ceiling...sounds easy right? Wrong!! Basically your upper strength and core will really need to get into gear for this as the only easy part is at the end when you are lying down and swinging, everything else depends on you pushing your self to the unknown (well, if it’s your first time anyway) 2-#fitness score is high on this activity, because you are using so many muscles you may not usually, you will feel it the next day. But we loved the swinging upside down, flipping ourselves backwards and learning to trust that the ceiling won’t fall in when we jumped on the material. 3-#equipment used bonafide antigravity branded material. Made from silk, it can hold a baby elephant and the chains and bolts used to hold it up are specially made too. The teacher is an absolute expert and a pleasure to learn from as she takes it step by step and assists when you need it. ADRtip: take the fundamentals course first as it will help you to learn all of the names of special moves as well how to respect your material. #antigravityyoga #antigravity #yoga #yogaone #exercise #inabudhabi#abudhabi #abudhabireview

  • staycation - muscat, oman

We visited Muscat, Oman last month for a mini staycation. We stayed at the Sundas Rotana which has recently opened and has 215 rooms. Three point review: 1-#location of the hotel is convenient if you are flying into Oman as it’s about 10 mins from the airport. If you are driving it is a bit of a distance but it’s extremely easy to find as it’s pretty much off the main highway. It’s were also about 20 mins from the @roh_muscat which is absolutely stunning and worth a visit and then head on to the coast which is just as beautiful. 2-#facilities were adequate. They had a gym and outdoor swimming pool and the rooms were nice too, with large beds and amenities. The views were what you would expect from a city hotel. 3-#dining was in their all day dining restaurant, Ginger, and we were really impressed with the food. There was variety everyday and as they only had one restaurant open, that was a relief. We were able to try a few dishes from their Teatro menu (which wasn’t open yet) and they were lovely too - all Asian inspired. The chef actually came from Le Royal Meridien right here in Abu Dhabi so we think he will make a welcome splash to the property. #ADRfave: the waiters make a mean lemon, ginger and honey tea - we could have drunk that every hour! ☕️ #sundasrotana #rotanahotels #rotana #inoman #muscat #oman#abudhabireview #cityhotel #newhotel #businesshotel

  • Eat. Play. laugh Brunch on the roof

The Eat. Play. Laugh. Brunch at Marriott Hotel Downtown, Abu Dhabi is located on The Grill@25, an outdoor space on the 25th floor with a pool. Three point review: 1-#atmosphere is brilliant. They have an awesome DJ playing RandB music (which they didn’t have at it’s originals location, Kuzbara), fun games like Jenga and beer pong, as well as an illusionist who literally blew our minds! 2-#food offering is not massive, but we liked that. There are live stations including chaat, grills and roasts as well very cool cocktail bars. We enjoyed the salads and soup and while there wasn’t a huge amount of hot veggie food, the chefs were happy to make it for us. (We didn’t need it as there was enough for us to eat). Puds were pretty, but some tasted a little too much of marzipan. The ice cream bar had a variety of flavours too. 3-#GrownUps only at this brunch as it isn’t suitable for kids. It had a real party vibe and was bright and airy. It is open in some places so as the weather begins to get warmer it may feel a little like a green house, however there are plans to add fans and a/c units should it get hotter. #ADRfave - try the Hibiscus margarita- it tastes like candy floss! (Make it frozen!) #brunch #inabudhabi #abudhabi #marriottdowntown #eatplaylaughbrunch#eatplaylaughoutsidebrunch #abudhabireview

  • Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship

⛳️ GOLF ⛳️ love it or hate it, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA are back #inabudhabi and we just spent a lovely afternoon kicking back at the Village with lots of activities for the little one. Three point review: 1-#Kids will be entertained in the future falcons area with golfing games they can try their hand at and there are prizes to win too! The guys from @sandart.me have FREE sand art activities and there is a big play centre area with a slide that leads straight into a massive ball pit! 2-#food is readily available by the numerous food trucks in the village and this year there is also a general public viewing stand by the 18th hole where you buy food and drinks and watch the golfers take their final shots. 3-#golf (we should probably talk about that bit) it’s amazing to be able to get so close to the players whilst they are walking round the course. The tranquility of the grounds is just so therapeutic, we could have stayed there all day. #ADRtip - tomorrow (Friday) is ladies day where the best dressed win prizes, and on Saturday if you wear red you’ll get in for free! #adgolfchamps #golf #inabudhabi📷🇦🇪 #hsbcgolfchampionship#abudhabigolfclub #golfgoals #golfballs #golfforkids #fore#championshiplounge #18thhole

  • New menu at giraffe, yas mall

giraffe UAE has introduced a new menu that fits in even more with their world food concept. We tried it out in the Yas Mall branch which has had a very cool, international makeover, with some very instagrammable backdrops! Three point review: 1-#Kids menu has enough options to keep the little ones happy, from sausages, chicken, baked beans, chips (of course!), plus lots more. They were also very accommodating if we wanted to chop and change anything. The kids menu is AED45 for a starter, main course, dessert and a small drink which could be a smoothie or juice. There is also a small table where kids can do some colouring while they are waiting for the food to arrive. 2-#international options on the main menu included Mexican favourites like enchiladas to Indian chaat inspired dishes. They also had ‘world tapas’ where you could pick three small plates for AED95. We chose crispy potato bravas, salt and pepper squid and baked hummus. The only one we weren’t keen on was the hummus, as we didn’t feel they got the flavour right. 3-#choice is abundant from brunch style dishes to Turkish pide - a flat bread topped with 3 different combos. Their drinks are also refreshing with a range of smoothies and milkshakes. #ADRfave: there was a lot to be honest, but try a smoothie, enjoy the complimentary tortilla chips and definitely try the Indian chaat dish. #girrafferestaurant #worldfood #internationaldishes #food #foodreview#review #inabudhabi #abudhabi #inabudhabi📷🇦🇪 #reviewer #foodreviewer#abudhabireview
