There’s a new Barbie in the UAE, making conversations around autism and inclusion part of everyday play.
The design was developed with the Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN), a community that advocates to capture how autistic people experience, process, and communicate with the world around them.

It features clothing designed with sensory comfort in mind, noise-cancelling headphones, a fidget spinner, and an AAC tablet - a communication tool often used by non-verbal autistic children to express themselves. The doll also features flexible joints designed to support self-regulation movements, along with a side-directed gaze that shows how some autistic people may experience or approach eye contact differently.
Children with Autism will now get the chance to see their own daily experiences mirrored in a toy, giving them a sense of validation and helping them feel truly seen and heard.
Part of the Barbie Fashionistas line, it aims to bring autism acceptance into everyday settings and gives children more chances to grow up around representation, making empathy and conversations about inclusion a more natural part of everyday life.
You can get your doll online through local retailers like Noon , Amazon and Desertcart.
