The latest family brunch to hit Abu Dhabi is by Family Brunch Dubai, who are famous for their entertainment filled events where the kids are kept occupied and the parents can make the most of brunch. Because of this, we had high expectations of the Enchanted Brunch that launched today at Vendome, the all-day dining restaurant in the iconic Emirates Palace.
Three Point Review:
1 - #Kids entertainment kept the little ones busy with planting, colouring, toy building, face painting, reading and cookie decorating in the mini chef area. They were also joined by Mirabel from Disney's Encanto, who did a quick performance of hits from Encanto and some other Disney movies. The Enchanted Garden is set out on the Vendome Terrace, with a grassy floor dotted with cushions. Unfortunately, today the weather was super windy and they were a little hampered by the rain at points of the day, but that didn’t stop the team making it fun for the little ones. If you’ve got older kids there is a small nook for them to hang out in by the kids buffet area. It has a foosball table and some seating, but not a lot more, so they'll need to bring their own entertainment. The kids buffet isn’t that easy to find because it's at the other side of the restaurant and away from the Enchanted Garden - so keep that in mind when trying to feed your kids.
2 - #Menu - on the whole, the food was good. There were lots of options for salads, seafood and meat. If you are a veggie, put request in when you get there - they were very happy to assist and bring things that weren’t on the buffet. The Laksa got a big thumbs up with the pescatarians and there were also live pasta and roast stations. The kids buffet had the usuals, including burgers, mac & cheese, chips, sweet treats, and lots of fruit. The drinks menu on the House package is limited to three cocktails, one type of beer and some wine options. If you want sparkling or champagne you will have to pay a higher premium.
3 - #Vibe - If you ever had the pleasure of visiting a Family Fun brunch, you’ll know that it always passes the vibe check. We felt that this brunch lacked a certain atmosphere. The live entertainment inside the restaurant, was very slow paced and didn’t lift the ambiance enough to fit with the roaming dancers and other entertainment. We hope going forward that they look to create the same fun mood inside, that was outside on the terrace - however we are presuming that there may be certain restrictions due to the brunch location.
#ADRtip: If the weather is good try and get a table on the terrace, as the views are amazing across the water! Also, the service staff were very quick to try and try and clear our plates, so hang on to them if you are still eating!
