Over 20 new rides and slides, a Lost City theme, and a few record-breaking thrills - here's what's new at the capital's coolest waterpark.

Yas Waterworld, already known as one of the UAE’s most beloved waterparks, is turning the taps on even higher this summer. From 1 July, the park’s brand-new expansion opens to the public, bringing with it more than 20 new rides, slides and attractions, plus a whole new immersive theme that builds on the park’s original story, The Legend of the Lost Pearl.
Spanning over 13,000 square metres, this exciting new section is dubbed The Lost City and brings Yas Waterworld’s total number of experiences to more than 60, making it one of the biggest waterparks in the region. Whether you're a family with little ones, a thrill-seeker, or just after a fun way to cool off, there’s something new for everyone.
The headline rides
You’ll want to bring your competitive streak for Al Falaj Race – the region’s first side-by-side duelling tube raft race. Expect big drops, fast corners, and a full-on battle to the bottom.
Meanwhile, younger guests can try Al Sahel Junior, a mini zero-gravity boomerango (also a first for the region), or hop aboard Dawwama Junior, a mini version of the iconic swirling slide.
Other standouts include:
Bahamut’s Rage – a high-adrenaline log flume with dramatic drops
Red Dunes – a twisting, enclosed slide that promises a speedy descent
Mataha Madness – a labyrinth of slides and turns
Bandit’s Playground – an all-new splash zone for kids with interactive fun at every corner
And that’s not even all of it. You’ll also find Sadaf Swirl, Al Mafras for younger sliders, and more new areas to explore, including secret passageways and hidden gems throughout the new zone.
More thrills, more flavour
Of course, no waterpark day is complete without some post-slide snacking – and there’s a brand-new dining destination opening within the expansion too, giving you the perfect refuel spot between rides.
This latest update is all part of Miral’s wider mission to evolve Yas Island into one of the world’s top leisure destinations. And judging by the scale (and slides), they’re doing a pretty good job.
