Abu Dhabi Collectors’ Edit: Materiality

Sotheby’s new online summer auction, Abu Dhabi Collectors’ Edit: Materiality, is running until 10 July 2026, so there’s still time to browse a selection of rare collector pieces.

There are just over 30 incredible items up for grabs, ranging from high jewellery and rare watches to collector cars, luxury handbags, and even a high-performance road bike. Some of the biggest highlights include a Richard Mille Rafael Nadal watch, a 2019 Bugatti Chiron, a limited-edition Hermès Kelly 25, and five rare Hemmerle jewellery creations heading to auction for the very first time.

You can take a closer look at the standout lots and estimates in our full Abu Dhabi Collectors’ Edit feature.

Yas Island introduces smart parking in partnership with PARKONIC

Yas Island is introducing a fully ticketless parking system across Yas Marina, Yas Bay Waterfront and West Yas Plaza from 6 July. The new system uses number plate recognition linked with Salik, so you just drive in, park, and your time gets tracked automatically without tickets or payment machines.

For visitors, it still keeps things fairly flexible. If you are heading in for a workout, you will get up to six hours free with validation, and the same goes if you are spending the day at the beach at Yas Bay Waterfront. If you are dining out, you can get up to three hours free, just make sure your restaurant validates your parking before you leave. And if you are just chilling at West Yas Plaza, the first hour is free and then AED 10 hourly charges apply after that.

Check out our full guide to Yas Island’s new smart parking system across Yas Marina, Yas Bay Waterfront and West Yas Plaza.
